We hope that you have had a wonderful summer with an adventure or two!

We were lucky enough to visit Wales in August, where my mother is from. We haven't been back much since I was a teenager and I really wanted to introduce my partner Thomas and our son to a country that, in a way, is part of me.

We started down in Southwest Wales near magical Manorbier beach, stayed in a wooden wigwam and discovered Boscherton lily ponds in Stackpole. The walk around and across the ponds ended up on one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever visited, Broadhaven.- huge stretches of sand and great for a dip in the fresh sea.

We then headed east, stopping off for the afternoon at the National Botanical Garden of Wales- I especially loved the walled garden and loaded up my camera with inspiration- my favourite being the unusual coloured sunflowers they had.

Next was the Brecon Beacons where we managed to see some waterfalls (which had been on my list for years) and they did not disappoint. The fairytale-like smooth rocks, the sound of the cascading clear water and the quiet of the trees surrounding them will stay with me for a long while. We happened upon a lovely village called Crickhowell with a wonderful bookshop called Book-ish. They had great coffee and as luck would have it, they really liked my cards (I always have a few in my bag hanging around just in case)... so they are now stocking them in their lovely store.

The second part of our trip took us to the northern part of the country- the Llŷn Peninsula. We stayed in a traditional old Welsh cottage with pillar box red painted doors and windows, an aga in the kitchen and rosehips in the garden. We visited one-of-a-kind Port Meirion, the Italian inspired village designed by the architect Clough William-Ellis, with its brightly coloured buildings and quirky nooks and crannies.
We had a trip on a steam train up through the mountains, we went to see our stockist in Abersoch.- Charlotte at Kin & Co- a beautiful lifestyle and flower shop situated in the special Aberuchaf Centre. It is always lovely to see the products styled in a store and Charlotte has an amazing eye for detail as she herself creates the floral designs.

One of the highlights of the trip was visiting Canolfan Felin Uchaf- a visionary social enterprise in the middle of the countryside. The centre has traditional round houses built by volunteers, one for events such as storytelling and music and another that is a magical observatory. There is a charming café on site, with warm yellow walls and Mexican inspired art, where they make their delicious vegetarian dishes from their organic garden. It's truly a very extraordinary place and I wanted to sit in their gardens and draw for hours.

Finally on our journey back home to Suffolk , we popped in to see our long-standing stockist Lotti & Wren. It was so nice to meet Jennifer who has stocked our products for years. This colourful, happy store is on a wonderful street in Caernarfon-we wish we could've explored and stayed for longer.

So it's now back to reality and a new season approaching. But Autumn is one of my favourites. I love to see how nature turns and changes, it feels like an inspiring time...
